Álvaro Alonso is a producer and director known for 'Los Almendros. Plaza nueva' (2000). He graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Seville in 1994 and completed the European Master in Audiovisual Management (MEGA) in 1999. Founding member of Letra M, he coordinates the collective project CINEXIN, which brought together a generation of Andalusian film talents. In 2000 he founded Jaleo Films, with which he produced more than twenty feature films. He was president of the Plataforma de Empresarios y Creadores del Audiovisula Andaluz from 2004-2006. In 2010 he was nominated Producer On The Move in the European Film Promotion programme for the Cannes Film Festival. As a director, his first short film 'Los Almendros-Plaza Nueva' was nominated for the Goya Awards in 2001. He has been a tutor for the European Master in Audiovisual Management at the Media Business School from 2006 to date.
