Young actors take over the bodies of my grandparents and replay their last moments together. Accompanied by the voice of my grandfather, they tell of the escaping memory, the painful bodies, the loneliness. They tell of the loss, talk of life.
Mathilde Chavanne, a graduate of Fine Arts, is a French filmmaker whose short films have won awards at the Clermont Ferrand and Premiers Plans short film festivals. Her latest short film 'Simone est partie' had its world premiere at the Directors' Fortnight 2021. Chavanne studied in the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts in Besançon and in the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague and graduated in 2015. Chavanne was selected at the Festival Côté Court de Pantin in 2019 and has participated in the Créations en cours program of the Ateliers Médicis in 2018.
