Belén Funes was born in Barcelona in 1984. Studied film directing at ESCAC (Spain) and screenwriting at EICTV (San Antonio de los Baños Film School). She has been working as script supervisor and assistant director in many Spanish productions. Her first feature film 'A Thief's Daughter' wins the Goya Award for Best New Director in 2020.
